KIMONO - VINTAGE //PLAYSUIT - H&M // BOOTS - EBAY

I don't know about you but I've been making the most of the little heat wave in London and whipping out my most summery clothes! I've ended up straying from the usual dark/grungy stuff and dressing with a bit of a hippie vibe which I totally love. I really want to stock up on floral crowns, feathers and bohemian organic jewellery now to try something new with my look this summer. What do you think? Of course, I won't be completely loosing the grunge though! I never could!!!

WESTFIELD STYLE SWAP

Last week, my good friend and fellow blogger Lela London asked me to Westfield Stratford City to take part in a style swap. I've known her for over a year now and although our personalities are pretty similar, our dress sense couldn't be more different! Lela always looks incredibly well put together in feminine dresses, killer heels and bright colours - where I on the other hand love nothing more than grunge, dark hues, platform shoes, cross necklaces and edgy statement jewellery. Our task was to style each other and this is the outcome...

BEANIE - TOPSHOP // BLOUSE - PRIMARK // TROUSERS - TOPSHOP // HEELS - FOREVER 21

I wanted to give Lela a 90s inspired look with a feminine, high fashion twist. I stayed true to the bright colours she loved by avoiding my favourite colour black and picking the trousers and beanie I liked in a bright pink instead. The pointed nude heels and embellished silky blouse finished it off with a touch of glamour, making the whole look a lot more 'Lela'.

SUNGLASSES - ALDO // DRESS - FOREVER 21 // HEELS - LINZI

Yes, believe it or not, this is me! I don't think I've ever dressed like this before in my entire life! Lela wanted to take me out of my comfort zone and put me in something bright, summery and above all, girlie! I was really unsure of this dress when she picked it out but I actually really liked it once I put it on. It's really flattering and will be perfect for when I start doing work experience for fashion uni. The statement heels and flower edged sunglasses are my favourite part of the look though - I love any shoes or accessories that really stand out and make an impact.

What do you think of our outfit choices? Did we do a good job? Make sure you check out Lela's post on the day as well by clicking here!

FROM L-R: MY FIANCÉ ANDREW READY FOR OUR NIGHT AT THE COMEDY STORE // ME GRUNGED UP TO GO BACK TO ESSEX FOR THE DAY // HILARIOUS SIGN OUTSIDE A PUB I VISITED WITH FRIENDS // PRETZEL BREAK FROM SHOPPING // OUR ADORABLE CHOCOLATE LAB KIRA // CLOSE UP BEFORE WORK AT ANN SUMMERS, ROCKING THE BINDI BEAUTY TREND

I thought I'd try something a little different and do my first Instagram post to show what I've been up to lately and a little peek into my life - let me know if this is something you'd like to see as a regular feature or not. These past few weeks have been so busy! I've been back and forth between Essex and London to visit various friends and family members, and trying to make the most of my break from University by going out as much as possible. That meant a LOT of drinking and shopping mainly - I'm shattered now!

This week I've been back at fashion university and giving myself a much needed break from rushing around, spending my days off with my feet up doing a bit of online shopping. I've been trying to discover new and exciting stores though like Uniprice, which is beautifully designed and full of some really interesting brands and fashion-forward womens clothing. If anyone has any other suggestions of sites I may not know of, please leave them in the comments. Because I'm studying fashion buying & merchandising and doing a massive menswear project with John Lewis at the moment I love discovering new brands and seeing what they do differently, or do really well.

BOWLER HAT - VINTAGE // CROSS NECKLACES - EBAY // BACKLESS SHIRT - C.O. BOOHOO // HIGH WAISTED STONEWASH JEANS - TOPSHOP // LIZARD DR MARTENS - C.O. SURFDOME

These AMAZING pair of oxblood lizard Dr Martens arrived in the post a couple of days ago, courtesy of the lovely people over at surfdome.com, and they've barely left my feet since! I've always been obsessed with DMs but I love how these ones are a bit different to the norm - now a joint favourite of mine along with my knee high patent navy Docs. I wore them with a backless white shirt and rolled up high waisted jeans for a slightly androgynous look with a twist.

Surfdome offers a wide range of well known alternative brands including favourites of mine like Dr Martens, Converse, Underground, TUK, Cheap Monday, Levis and Religion. All at really reasonable prices too - my DMs were under £60! CLICK HERE to go and have a look.

Finally, some long overdue outfit photos! I love this dress with the cut out midriff. It feels so 90s!

There's not much else to say at the moment... I've just been working, wedding planning, and preparing for my return to fashion university on Tuesday. Not very exciting. I can't believe I've had 4 weeks off from uni now! It doesn't feel like it at all and has gone so fast it's unbelievable.

RACE FOR LIFE & MY STORY

sponsor LONDON ROSE †

I know I know, an outfit post is well overdue and there will be one tomorrow - I promise! I just wanted to talk to you all about my participation in this years Race for Life.

As you may or may not know, a lot of my absence on here recently is because my Grandpa was diagnosed with cancer just after Christmas, and he went into Hospital almost immediately to be treated. The cancer was in his mouth and on his tongue, which he had half of removed in an intense 8 hour long operation. He was in intensive care with tubes everywhere, unable to eat, speak, breathe, or do anything for himself. That was going to be bad enough and a long and difficult recovery, but then there were complications. He had to have another complicated operation, then got infections that left him fighting for his life. He was incredibly sick and confused, which is not like my Grandpa at all. He's a strong and confident man who takes care of us all and is loved by everyone he meets - he got HUNDREDS of get well soon cards! He ended up back in intensive care and nobody thought he was going to make it, but somehow he pulled through. He's a fighter! From then his recovery was rapid and surprised everybody around him, included the doctors and nurses who said they'd seen nothing like it. He's now finally out of hospital after a long and brutal battle that lasted months, and he's determined to be independent and keep getting better. He's still learning how to talk properly again but is doing so well, and he can't eat or drink for another few months, but remains positive. The doctors said it may be a year or two before he's back to normal but I have every faith in him - I always did.

I'm doing the Race for Life on behalf of my Grandpa. He's been such an inspiration and has inspired me to be more of a fighter myself. I'm also racing for every brave individual that has ever fought cancer and their amazing friends and families. Please sponsor me by clicking on the banner below. It will take you to my sponsorship page, where you can pledge as little or as much money as you'd like. It's quick, easy, and totally secure.

You can even sponsor me by text thanks to JustTextGiving by Vodafone: Simply text 'HMAY90' followed by the amount you would like to donate to 70070 (EG: HMAY90 £5). Gift Aid of around 25% will be added to your donation at no extra cost to you, making it go even further.

HEIDI SLIMANE & YVES SAINT LAURENT

Heidi Slimane, Yves Saint Laurent, Marilyn Manson, Courtney Love

I don't think I've EVER done a post like this, but when I saw the new ad campaign for Yves Saint Laurent I couldn't resist! It was love at first sight!

I was already a massive Heidi Slimane fan and adore both his photography and his designs, as well as the direction he's leading the Saint Laurent label in. Then I saw these images - PERFECTION. Marilyn Manson? Yes please. Courtney Love? HELL YES. Add to that Ariel Pink and Kim Gordon and I think I might be in heaven. Music and fashion are my two favourite things and they've been blended together so perfectly here with the 90s grunge/rock aesthetic I love so much.

What is your opinion on the campaign?

PUNCHING IN A DREAM

Listening to... Punching in a Dream - The Naked and Famous

I've been really ill again this past week - sob sob! But feeling a lot brighter now, thanks to my AMAZING fiancé Andrew. He always looks after me when my Endometriosis gets bad and has been a brilliant nurse as always, treating me like a princess. I'm a lucky girl :) I'm going to a gig tomorrow night so will be sure to take outfit snaps and post again in the next couple of days.

Have an amazing Easter weekend folks, and make sure you eat AT LEAST your body weight in chocolate. I sure will be. I have to work on Easter Sunday though which sucks - who the hell needs to buy vibrators and kinky lingerie on Easter Sunday?! I don't think that's quite the meaning of the day... but hey, whatever floats your boat.

VARSITY TEE - TOPSHOP // PLATFORMS - OFFICE // JEWELLERY AND BINDI - EBAY

Now I'm done with fashion uni for a whole month I have WAY more time for blogging - yay! Thank you everyone for being so patient. It also means I have more time for fun, so I've been seeing lots of friends and catching up on my drinking BIG TIME. Wedding planning is also a regular activity at the moment and the big day is just over 6 months away... how the hell did that creep up so quickly? I can't wait though and am SO excited it's unreal.

This is what I wore yesterday, teamed with a massive 80s oversized leather jacket so I wouldn't freeze to death! Totally nineties-tastic, haha! I'm still loving the 90s, but is it just me or is anybody else getting a little sick of seeing it EVERYWHERE? I don't want that to put me off wearing what I love, but I can't help but feel like it is some days.

Just a quick note: I'm updating my Tumblr & Instagram accounts on a daily basis so if you want more London Rose (you greedy thing), you can find them by using the little yellow buttons over there ----->

CASEABLE.COM (+ £10 DISCOUNT CODE!)

Sorry for the absence recently guys - I've had a lot of deadlines to meet at University and my grandpa's been very sick, but everything's looking much better now. I have a few outfit posts lined up and ready to go, but first I wanted to talk about caseable.com, a site offering completely personalised phone and gadget cases that contacted me recently.

Caseable offered me the chance to create my own case, which was perfect timing as I had a new iPhone 4 on the way! The actual process of creating your case is really straightforward, quick and easy, and I was REALLY pleased with the outcome. My case arrived way faster than expected and is of a really high quality - the photo I chose to be printed onto it came out perfect, with no pixelating or marks. Here's the final result...

BEANIE - WAISTE // NIKE CROP - C.O. ZALANDO // HIGH WAIST JEANS - TOPSHOP // PLATFORMS - OFFICE

Not much to say today - it's been a bit of a difficult few weeks for me and University deadlines are looming so I'm feeling a little low. Hopefully 'wine night' tomorrow with the girls will lift my mood, but for today I decided to inject some colour into my outfit to brighten me up. The Nike neon green crop is courtesy of the lovely people at Zalando, as well as a pair of shoes which will be making a blog appearance very soon. The top is actually from the men's range (I love a cheeky bit of menswear!) but they do a great range of women's clothing too.

LONDON FASHION WEEK

LONDON ROSE †

LFW is now over (sob sob) but unfortunately I only made it to one day this season. I've been really ill and when I actually managed to drag myself there I just felt faint and achey the entire day - I definitely wasn't my usual fun and talkative self. I had an awesome 90s themed outfit planned for the last day as well but due to puking all over my bathroom I never got to wear it! Arghhh! People seemed to like this one though: a black and white collared style dress, patent platform loafers and pearl cat ears.

LONDON ROSE †

LONDON ROSE †

I had a wonderful time as always with my good blogger friends Kavita, Jodie, Laura and Ollie (all pictured above) and met some lovely new people too like Lauren from 'Girl Stole London' and Lily from 'Red Brick Lipstick'. We hung out around Somerset house for a bit (where we got snapped lots!) before heading to the Rescue Rooms at the Mayfair Hotel for a much needed sit down and pamper. I already can't wait for next season and hopefully will be feeling much brighter so I don't miss out and get to experience the entire thing!

It's less than 8 months until my wedding day and plans are coming together so well. I have a beautiful gown for the ceremony but needed something lighter and more fun for the evening - and thanks to the lovely people at E-dressy I now have this stunning strapless number! The detail is beautiful, with lots of body contouring gathered pleats and a front split. E-dressy offer affordable, custom made gowns for a variety of different events and I would definitely recommend them! Once my Breakfast at Tiffany's giveaway is over (see below for details) E-dressy have given me a very generous prize to give away, so make sure you check back!

I can't stop listening to Hole at the moment - I could listen to them all day. I've always been a massive fan of the 90's but now little bits of the decade are absolutely everywhere I'm becoming more and more obsessed with everything about it. LFW is fast approaching and I'm sure I'll be wearing a lot of 90's themed outfits, including what is now being referred to by friends as my 'signature bindhi'! Which of you lovely bloggers will be there as well next week?
